Final Clinical Practice Semester
What To Expect
Student Teaching is a prospective teacher’s internship, i.e. a full-term experience observing, planning, and teaching in an elementary, middle, or high school setting. It is partnered with EdTPA Capstone; a performance-based assessment taken during student teaching.

If you have passed Clinical Practice II with a B- or better, finished your 100 hours of Fieldwork and have a GPA of 3.0 or above, you are eligible for Final Clinical Practcie/Student Teaching in the Spring or Fall semester.
Student Teacher Kick-off meeting (MANDATORY) - August 11th, all day 8am-4pm!
You should have applied to Final Clinical Practice at the same time as applying for CP II last semester. However,if you need to request a change of placement, the deadlines for that are
- April 1st to apply for the next Fall semester
- October 1st to apply for the next Spring Semester
Stop-outs: If you have stopped out of Stockton or the Education program for a semester or more and are trying to enter Final Clinical Practice, please contact your preceptor. For questions betwen July 1-Sept 1, email Jennifer.houser@stockton.edu.
You can change your placement here: Student Teaching Fieldwork Application. Make sure to select "Request for Change of Placement" from the dropdown menue.

Make an appointment with your preceptor(s) on the precepting days:
- Fall Semester: Late October/Early November
- Spring Semester: Late March/Early April
You can find the name(s) of your preceptor(s) on your Degree Works in the top left corner.
Graduation
Certification
- The School of Education will contact you about license intake.
- Teacher Certificates - As of May 15, 2015 paper certificates will no longer be issued. All information about certificates is now online including certificate name, certificate ID number, date of issuance, and expiration date if applicable. Instructions to view this information can be found at NJDOE.

- Taskstream Instructional Video - This two-part video will walk you through how Taskstream is used during student teaching. All student teachers are expected to review it and be familiar with the process. Details include how to prepare for observations by the university supervisor and mentor teacher.

This program is accessible even if you are not currently a student with Stockton University. in this case, follow the instructions on the Eudcation Interest sheet you can findhere.
