Message from the Faculty Director
Dear Colleagues,
As an old year ends and a new one begins, we fix our gaze on the future. The year ahead will no doubt present all of us with many and varied challenges. Still, LIGHT is filled with hope as we celebrate the accomplishments of emerging industry professionals and the dedicated team of educators that support them.
This issue of LIGHTs On focuses on a vision for the future that relies on creative collaborations and persistent innovation. One article documents a collaborative project between Stockton University students and Seaview Hotel that resulted not only in a high impact learning experience for the students but also valuable contributions to Seaview's marketing campaign. Another article highlights the joint work of students and faculty "demonstrating how student-led inquiry can contribute to industry-relevant sustainability discourse and inform the future of large-scale sporting events." In a third article, faculty "pull back the curtain" on how an academic program is designed using innovative approaches to prepare students for careers in emerging industries. Lastly, we take a look at the challenges ahead for Atlantic City's gaming industry and how competition is likely to inspire innovation.
Additionally, this issue’s leader interview is with Danielle Norcross, the newly appointed president of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber.
We hope that like several of this issue's contributers you will think creatively about potential partnerships and how as a community we can innovate and grow together.
May this issue of LIGHTs On serve as an inspiration and resource for you and your team throughout the new year to come.
Sincerely,
Jane Bokunewicz
Faculty Director, LIGHT
