Stockton Rises in Wall Street Journal College Rankings

GALLOWAY, N.J. - Stockton University has been included in the 2018 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Ranking of the nation’s top universities.

The ranking noted Stockton’s strong showing in student outcomes, which includes graduation rates, graduate salary, reputation and loan default rate.

Stockton’s six-year graduation rate score improved from 68.6 in 2017 to 81.3 in 2018. The increase reflects the impact of programs such as the 20-credit initiative, which allows students to take as many as 20 credits per semester at no additional cost.

“We are very proud to once again be identified nationally for our dedication to student success,” President Harvey Kesselman said.

This year’s national ranking included 1,054 institutions from among some 3,000 four-year colleges and universities. Stockton improved its national ranking from 475 last year to 434 this year. The university ranks 161st out of 303 colleges included in the Northeast.

The WSJ/THE College Rankings uses 15 performance metrics that include resources, engagement, outcomes and environment. The goal is to put graduate success and student learning in the forefront.
