B.S. Environmental Science, '15
I graduated from Stockton University in December, 2014 with a BS in Environmental
Science with Program Distinction. I am now a Superfund Remedial Project Manager for
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Stockton's Environmental Track prepared
me for this opportunity through their knowledgeable professors, who facilitated professional
and personal growth through challenging courses and field experiences. The two courses
that best prepared me for the opportunity to work for the USEPA were "Remediation
and Biotechnology" and "Environmental Pollution and Regulation", both taught by Dr.
Tait Chirenje. The course material is directly related to my job, which made me highly
qualified for the position. I also worked with Dr. Chirenje on an independent study
researching the indoor air quality of NJ hotels as part of the NJDEP Garden State
Green Hotels Project. Through my coursework, projects, field experience, and guidance
from extraordinary professors, I would say Stockton University well prepared me for
my new career at the USEPA.
I had the opportunity to join Dr. Chirenje's NW/SW Field Experience as well, where
I learned about environmental issues in our country first-hand, and the course completely
changed my life.
