I enrolled at Stockton University because it was local and the environmental studies program was renowned. What I found was a community of similarly interested students and an insightful faculty.

Studying at Stockton proved to be a rewarding experience allowing me to choose classes both within my concentration and at a distance which catered to my career interests. Additionally, the program had a good balance of theory and hands-on practical field work. The program was excellent and provided me with the foundational knowledge needed to pursue my Master's degree in forestry at Yale University. I would especially recommend the program to any motivated individuals interested in earning a degree to enhance their career and/or individuals seeking a higher education degree.

My undergraduate research, field experience, and courses under Dr. Zimmermann greatly helped prepare me for my current pursuits. Currently, my research is examining mixed diterocarp forests in southwest Sri Lanka using GIS and Google earth to assess field measurements across physiographic gradients. Additionally, I have worked in the private sector as a forestry and GIS consultant in Ecuador for tropical conservation.
