Stockton University Atlantic City Ribbon Cutting Just a Beginning
It took a team to build Stockton University Atlantic City, but the new campus is only
the beginning of the University’s commitment to students and Atlantic City, speakers
said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the new student Residential Complex

Second Amendment is Theme of Constitution Day Lecture
The second amendment to the U.S. Constitution is “notorious for its ambiguity,” author
and professor Adam Winkler told several hundred students and guests at the annual
Constitution Day celebration on Sept. 17.
Talent Network To Coordinate Job Training Initiative
The Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Talent Network at Stockton and the Office of Continuing
Studies will coordinate a new initiative to train young adults for careers in the
hospitality and tourism industry. The program was announced at a launch party Sept.
12 at Little Water Distillery, in Atlantic City.

Beachfront Learning
Students in Adjunct faculty member Karen Rosnick’s course, Gen-1138: Perspectives
on Childhood, reflected on childhood leisure activities during their class, which
was held on the beach after the Stockton University Atlantic City ribbon cutting on
Sept. 20.
Take a Shuttle
Shuttle service is now offered seven days a week to and from Stockton University Atlantic City. Both
the Galloway campus and Stockton Atlantic City provide free transportation for faculty,
students and staff with their Stockton ID.
SPOTLIGHT ON
Joseph Elected Vice President of World Society of Victimology
Janice Joseph, Distinguished Professor of Criminal Justice and coordinator of the
Victimology and Victim Services Minor, was recently elected one of the Presidents
of the World Society of Victimology (WSV) which elects two vice presidents. The term
of service is three years. She was also appointed chair of the Standard and Norms
Committee of WSV. She has served on the Executive Committee as the chair of the UN
Liaison Committee of WSV during which she represented the organization at the UN in
Vienna and New York. “I am honored to be elected one of the vice presidents of this
international organization,” Joseph said.
FRAME-WORTHY
Terrapins, like this one, were lucky to have rescuers and good care at Stockton. On Sept. 14, John Rokita was joined by Lester Block and Melissa Laurino, staff within the School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics, to release the terrapins back into the wild.

should start gathering their 2017 tax and income information now, so they will be

Los Latinos Unidos debuted its first Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Sept.
17 with the raising of a Pan-American flag at the Arts and Sciences building circle.
A number of events, including the Unidos Faculty Lecture Series, will be held.
