President's Message
A Message from President Harvey Kesselman
It has been my honor and privilege to serve as president of this great University – my alma mater – for the last eight years. Together with our extraordinary faculty, staff, students and alumni, I have worked to make a Stockton degree more valuable each and every day.
I have led under the guiding principle of Students First. And this issue of Stockton Now highlights just a few of our amazing students and alumni who are thriving here and throughout the region. Like the Jenkins family: Beatrice and her two daughters Alexis and Alicia, who all took different paths that led them to Stockton. And Damaris Anne-Spring, one of our first-year students who received acceptances from 26 institutions but decided to call Stockton her home.
We highlight two alumnae who have put their science education to use. Cathianne Leonardi ’94 is using her biology degree to break down products into the molecular level to develop new flavors of food and drink. Kimberly Dudeck ’17 is taking her environmental science education to the great outdoors as a park ranger in the National Parks system.
So much has happened recently at the University, including the openings of two highly anticipated spaces, a visit from Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the naming of our next president, Dr. Joe Bertolino. (Give him a follow on Instagram and Twitter!).
While I may be stepping away, I encourage you all to stay connected with the University. Plan a visit to see how campus has evolved, take in a show at the Performing Arts Center, check out some of our featured graduates of the Class of 2023, and learn how you can become an alumni volunteer.
I know great things are still to come for my beloved Stockton. Go Ospreys!
Dr. Harvey Kesselman, President
Stockton University
