1979
Robert L. Alesiani ’79, chief pharmacotherapy officer for Tabula Rasa HealthCare, Inc., was named the 2018 Hugo H. Schaefer Award winner by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Alesiani received a B.S. in Marine Science from Stockton, a BPharm from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and a PharmD from the University of Florida, where he graduated cum laude and received the Outstanding Graduating Clinician Award. He returned to University of Florida in 2016 to complete a certification in Pharmacogenomic Translation and Application.
1980
Sandra J. Mueller ’80, warden of the Ocean County Department of Corrections, discussed Stockton University’s impact on her career after being presented the Distinguished Alumni Award during the Psi Chi Research in Psychology Conference on April 20. Mueller had worked in the casino industry and as a construction worker in Atlantic City prior to becoming an inmate counselor in Ocean County. “Everything I studied at Stockton is important to where I am. I arrived on this campus as one person and left completely changed,” Mueller said. “That is a sign of a great education." Mueller earned a B.S. in Psychology from Stockton.
1992
Lori Herndon '92, AtlantiCare CEO, spoke at this year’s Atlantic Cape Community College commencement ceremony. Herndon has positively impacted southern New Jersey through her work in the medical field. In 2013, Herndon was named to the Atlantic County Women’s Hall of Fame, and Stockton University’s William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy honored her with its “Distinctive Alumni Leadership Award.” Herndon earned a B.S. in Nursing from Stockton.
1996
Hak Kim ’96 was appointed to the John R. Elliott Foundation Board of Trustees. As the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AtlantiCare, a member of Geisinger, Kim is responsible for the finances of the $1 billion integrated health care system. Kim earned a B.S. in Business Studies from Stockton.
David Stout ’96 was named the seventh president of Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, N.J. Stout earned a B.S. in Psychology from Stockton.
1997
Stephen Peacock ’97 was recently contracted by Triton Fights MMA of Long Island to stand in for Dave Diamante, who is a famed announcer for the Brooklyn Nets and HBO Boxing. Peacock has announced for MMA, boxing and bodybuilding events in seven different states over the past three years. Peacock earned a B.A. in Communication Studies from Stockton.
Lisa Peten ‘97, founder and CEO of Cybersity Leaders, has dedicated the past five years of her life to helping close the gap in underrepresented groups in the cyber industry. Cybersity Leaders mentors minorities and women in the cyber profession. Peten holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Stockton and a M.S. in Information Security Management from Trinity University.
1998
Frank Gilliam '98 hosted Meet the New Mayor on March 27. Gilliam acted as the keynote speaker at the luncheon meeting for the PR Council of Greater Atlantic City.
Mark Marrone ’98 will take on dual roles at Mainland Regional High School as district superintendent and principal. Marrone earned a B.A. in Historical Studies from Stockton and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University.
1999
Tina Jessup '99, who has worked at Disney for 16 years, was recently promoted to a planner with Facility Asset Management where she manages projects, including construction at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Jessup earned a B.S. in Biology from Stockton.
Katrina Law ’99 is living in Los Angeles and pursuing her dreams of acting and starring in popular television shows. Law earned a B.A. in Performing Arts (Theatre Performance) at Stockton, and continued her education in acting in both Philadelphia and New York.
2001
Stephen Sparks ’01 was recently named as a judge for the 2018 National Book Award for poetry.
2002
Marissa Edmund ’02 was promoted to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Edmund Optics. Edmund began her career at Edmund Optics in 1998 as director of Human Resources and executive vice president of Marketing and Communications. She received a undergraduate degree from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a Master of Business Studies from Stockton University.
Tracey Pino ’02 pursued a MSW at Rutgers after earning a B.S. in Social Work at Stockton. Sixteen years later, Pino is a public school social worker. “I have kept in touch with the Stockton community by supervising undergraduates from the social work internship program and attending events, such as alumni get-togethers and basketball games. Overall, my greatest accomplishment is my legacy. My daughter is currently a senior at Stockton and is also very involved in the Stockton community via Greek life and philanthropy events, as well as participating in sports. I am proud to say that I began our family’s legacy at Stockton University and hope that it continues on through many more generations.”
2003
Jose Lozano '03, chief of staff and vice president for Corporate Services and Governance of Hackensack Meridian Health, joined the economic development organization, Choose New Jersey, as its president and CEO on June 1. Lozano earned a B.A. in Political Science from Stockton.
2004
Kim Marino Kryscnski ’04 was recently selected for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. The ceremony, which took place on May 4, highlighted her accomplishments as a Stockton student-athlete. Kryscnski earned a B.A. in Historical Studies from Stockton.
2006
Jacob Owens ’06, wildlife biologist, has developed a reintroduction program for giant pandas in China. Watch this video that shows Owens leading a giant panda, born in captivity, into the wild for the first time in the mountains of China. The panda, Chen Chen, is in an IMAX film now in theaters featuring Owens. He earned a B.S. in Biology from Stockton.
2008
Phillip Skipwith ’08 presented his current research into reptilian evolution at his talk “The Evolution & Natural History of Geckos and Snakes” at a Biology seminar on May 2. Since graduating with a B.S. in Biology from Stockton, Skipwith has gone on to earn his M.S. in Biology from Villanova and a Ph.D. at Berkeley in Integrative Biology. His research primarily focuses on evolutionary relationships, genetic and morphological diversification, and biogeography of squamate reptiles. He is a Postdoctoral Fellow, American Museum of Natural History.
2015
Amanda Eisenbeis ’15 and husband Kollin welcomed their baby girl, Adeline at 4:33 p.m. on Jan. 6. Welcome to the Osprey family, Adeline!
2016
Darren Babnew ’16 was recently highlighted in the School of Education newsletter for his post-graduation journey. Babnew studied teacher education at Stockton University after serving in the U.S. Air Force. Upon retiring from the service, Babnew earned degrees in Liberal Studies and Education, and minors in Childhood Studies, Holocaust & Genocide Studies, and Historical Studies.
Stephen DeCasien ’16 was selected to be a member of the 2018 Summer Session of the American School of Classical
Students in Athens. In addition to this honor, DeCasien was also awarded the Lawler
Fellowship to support his further studies and continue his journey.
Tara (Septynski) Williams ’16 was promoted to associate director of Graduate Studies at Stockton University. In
her new role, Williams is responsible for creating and executing marketing and recruitment
strategies for Stockton’s graduate programs, with the goal of increasing the number
of applicants, applicant diversity and quality of the matriculated students. Her previous
positions during her 12 years at Stockton include assistant director of Alumni Relations,
assistant director of Alumni Relations & the Annual Fund and assistant director of
Graduate Studies. Williams earned a M.A. in Instructional Technology from Stockton.
2018
Arz Nammour ’18 was recently awarded the “Greatest Generation Award” by the Stockton Office of Military & Veteran Services at the Colonel Kenneth J. Stow Memorial Golf Tournament. Nammour was recognized for his work with older veterans which was sponsored by the Stockton Center on Successful Aging and part of Nammour’s Gerontology Internship during the Fall 2017 semester. He also spent time at the Rutgers University John H. Cronin Dental Center in the Atlantic County Complex on Dolphin Avenue in Northfield, N.J. Nammour earned a B.S. in Biology from Stockton.
