President's Message
A Message from President Joe Bertolino
Hello, Ospreys!
As I wrap up my first year as president of Stockton, I am prouder than ever to be a part of this community. Over these past 12 months I have met so many engaged students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends who are dedicated to uplifting their community. There is no shortage of amazing Ospreys with intriguing stories to share. This edition of Stockton Now shares just a few of these stories.
Like Jessica Ramirez, a first-generation student who persisted on to law school and now represents New Jersey’s 32nd legislative district as an assemblywoman. And Matthew and Liam Deibert, a father and son duo both pursuing their art degrees while working with a medium found in abundance at our Atlantic City campus: sand.
We’re also sharing the moving story of our head women’s basketball coach Devin Jefferson who led her Ospreys to one of their best records while undergoing surgery and radiation therapy following a breast cancer diagnosis.
You can also read about the nontraditional celebration we shared with faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends at my Inauguration earlier this spring. We honored Stockton's past, present and future with a wonderful afternoon of student performances and even a drumline!
I encourage you to read these stories and more here and stay connected with Stockton. Check out my Eye on Stockton series for recaps about what’s been happening on campus lately and what we’re looking forward to.
And you can stay connected with me by following me on Instagram, Facebook and X. I hope to see you soon!
Go Ospreys!
President Joe
