Murphy Writing of Stockton University offers programs in the U.S. and abroad where writers have an opportunity to delve into their work in challenging and supportive workshops and an encouraging community. The Annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway, founded in 1994 by Peter Murphy, attracts more than 200 poets and writers from across the country. Murphy Writing held its 25th Winter Getaway at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club in January. The program, which has been an entity of Stockton since 2014, also offers international writing retreats in Scotland and Wales, as well as poetry and writing programs throughout the year.
