Housing Accommodations
IProcedures and Deadlines for Requesting Special Consideration
Students with disabilities that require a specific type of housing assignment may
request housing accommodations through the Learning Access Program. The Learning Access
Program partners with the Office of Residential Life so requests can be properly considered.
To qualify for special consideration in the housing assignment process, a student
must be registered with the Learning Access Program and have your physician, psychiatrist,
social worker or mental health provider complete a Housing Accommodation Request form.
In addition, students must submit the required documentation prior to the deadline
to be eligible for review with the Housing Review Committee. The committee meets on
a bi-monthly basis to review requests and if applicable determine arrangements that
meet your needs. Additional information may be requested. Not all submissions are
guaranteed.
Housing Accommodation Request Form
Please contact the Learning Access Program for additional guidance on the required
documentation for housing consideration.
Requests for accommodation are considered based on need and availability. Submission requests cannot be guaranteed.
- Students must submit the accommodation requests and provide the required documentation each year if they wish to continue receiving housing accommodations.
- Students who wish to receive a housing accommodation must be eligible to reside on campus (See Guide to Residential Life for requirements)
- Students may be contacted by an administrator of the Learning Access Program or the Office of Residential Life to discuss implementation of the requested housing accommodation. The meeting will occur after the Learning Access Program representatives review and recommend an accommodation.
