Current Grants

 

Atlantic County Education, Socialization and Recreation Programs

Funded through Atlantic County and the Older Americans Act, SCOSA provides educational, social, and recreational programs throughout the year. Offerings include courses with Stockton faculty, arts programming, performing arts events, and more. 

This program is partially funded by the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended.  The Act requires us to inform you that you may make voluntary donations to SCOSA. Such donations are not a paid fee and are not required.  Any donations received will be used to develop and operate future programs. The Older Americans Act also requires us to collect some basic information about you so that we can provide summary reports of our programs and their participants. Your information will only be included in such summary forms and every effort will be made to protect your privacy.

 

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group

Funded through Atlantic County and the Older Americans Act, SCOSA offers weekly caregiver support groups both in person and via Zoom. Sessions include educational presentations and opportunities for caregivers to share experiences and resources.

Mosaic Foundation

Medium The Mosaic Foundation supports SCOSA's weekly Alzheimer's caregiver support groups and quarterly grief support groups. These programs help caregivers both during their caregiving journey and after the loss of a loved one.

 

Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program

Through the New Jersey Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program, SCOSA evaluates geriatric training initiatives and helps prepare future healthcare professionals. Students also participate in educational programs and comprehensive assessments with older adults in the community.

 

Alzheimer's Disease Program Initiatives

In partnership with the New Jersey Division of Aging Services, Stockton delivered dementia-focused workforce training programs. Topics included dementia awareness, communication strategies, and caregiver support for professionals across New Jersey.
