GIS Wetlands Analysis

The CRC, in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, performed a GIS analysis focused on the beneficial use of dredged material for restoring salt marshes.

This multi-staged project assessed and ranked the conditions of NJ’s coastal wetlands, quantified the benefits that wetland habitats provide to nearby coastal communities, and assessed the feasibility of restoring marsh areas. The results will be hosted on TNC’s resiliency web tool as an aid to municipal planners.
