Create a Named Fund

The Stockton University Foundation has many naming opportunities for you to choose from and is the ultimate way to recognize someone dear to you or establish your own legacy. Named gifts often pave the way for groundbreaking programs, research initiatives, innovative facilities, and vital scholarships, all of which will leave an enduring impact on Stockton and its students. Your investment will not only shape the present but contribute to a brighter future, ensuring Stockton’s continued growth and success while honoring those who make it possible.

1. Named Term Fund: $5,000

   Donors making a commitment of at least $5,000, which can be paid outright or over time, may create a named term fund. Funds can be allocated to scholarships, specific programs, research, athletics and more. Term funds are not invested and are spent over a specific period of time, making the impact of each donation immediate and significant.

2. Endowed Named Fund: $25,000 and larger

   Donors making a commitment of at least $25,000, which can be paid outright or over time, may create a named endowed fund. Endowed funds create a permanent legacy providing support for Stockton for years to come. The donation is invested and this principal amount remains intact in perpetuity. Annual earnings are spent to support the cause of the donor's choice, including scholarships, specific programs, research, athletics and more. 

3. Named Lecture Series: $50,000 and larger

   A minimum of $50,000 is required to establish a named lecture series, providing opportunities for students, faculty and others to hear from leading voices. Gifts establishing new named lecture series can be paid in one or more payments within a five-year period. The length of the lecture series will be determined by the gift amount and other factors.

4. Endowed Named Distinguished Scholarship: $100,000 and larger

   Donors of gifts of $100,000 or larger may establish an endowed named distinguished scholarship. A distinguished scholarship provides annual support for a student(s) over a four-year period. Newly-established named distinguished scholarships can be paid in one or more payments within a five-year period. One or more scholarships can be awarded one year after gifts to the endowment total at least $100,000.

5. Named Chairs, Professorships and other opportunities

   Donors may establish a named professorship, chair, or other significant academic opportunity with gifts endowing the position's salary and other related expenses. Funds contributed for professorships and chairs empower the University to enhance the teaching and research efforts of an outstanding faculty member, aiding in recruitment, support and augmentation of their academic work. These commitments can be fulfilled in one or more payments within a five-year period.
