C.E.O. Testimonials
Being a CEO has been a worthy cause. I have been able to identify my strengths and
weaknesses in the world of professionalism. I have acquired a lifetime of knowledge
that I’ll forever carry with me wherever I go. With the skills acquired from being
a CEO, I was able to found Stockton’s very first entrepreneurship club. Being a CEO
has been such an impactful journey and I’ll advice every student if possible, to become.
Lydia Kai Adjetey Generation 2 CEO Intern
Being a CEO has allowed me to develop my professional skills in a space much more
forgiving than other workplaces. Here, you’re allowed to be confused and make mistakes.
Because of the compassion and advice I’ve been given through this internship, I am
leaving the CEO internship feeling far more prepared for my next career endeavors.
Jaedyn Thomson Generation 2 CEO Intern
Being part of the internship has helped me be more professional and independent at
the same time. It has also helped me see how being professional can help me network
with others and benefit myself from networking and meeting new people on campus. Being
a CEO is still teaching me how putting myself out there and educating others about
DEI can help others grow as well as myself.
Michael Gomez Cruz Generation 2 CEO Intern
"My internship as a CEO has contributed to my professional growth by instructing me
in effective team communication, meeting deadlines, assuming leadership responsibilities,
and representing and exhibiting myself with confidence. By being a CEO intern, I have
had the opportunity to contribute to a significant transformation that will possibly
be an annual event, “The Inclusive Leadership Conference.”"
Lashonnah Gayles Generation 2 CEO Intern
Being a Cultural Engagement Osprey has opened my eyes to different cultures. I've
improved at talking to people from all walks of life, solving problems creatively,
and making new friends. It's made me more aware and respectful of cultural differences,
helped me step up as a leader, and has been a journey of personal growth.
Mashrur Pasha Pantho Generation 2 CEO Intern
Being a part of the CEO internship has been a huge contributor to my professional
and social growth. I have learned how to be personable and creative in spaces that
I have never been before. Being seen as a professional for the first time while still
having the space to grow and make mistakes in that sort of space has prepared me for
real world professional settings, and I am so happy that I am not going into the professional
world blind because of this internship.
Sarah Cirillo Generation 2 CEO Intern
Being a part of the CEO internship has helped me enhance my professional skills and
develop workplace decorum. I appreciate that we are allowed to make mistakes but also
correct those mistakes with positive reinforcement. Being a CEO has also given me
an introduction to the art of communication and how important communication is when
building personal and professional relationships. It has been a pleasure to experience
what it’s like to plan a DEI related conference and grow as a professional.
Alana Jackson Generation 2 CEO Intern
Being a CEO intern has allowed me to not only create an impact on campus but has also
opened doors to jobs and career opportunities that I wouldn’t have been able to access
otherwise. This internship has also granted me the opportunity to receive guidance
from two of the loveliest mentors I’ve ever had; Dr. Ana Edmondson and Yesenia Pacheco.
Their leadership and guidance have been essential to the success of this internship,
as well as our academic and professional careers; and I wouldn’t be where I am today
without them. Last but certainly not least, this internship showed me my potential,
that I do have what it takes to be a leader, and that I am capable of amazing things.
All I needed was a group that saw that potential and believed in me, and for me, that
was the Cultural Engagement Ospreys. I am forever grateful for what this internship
has taught me, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this internship and
the lives of those whom it has impacted.
Rebecca Nagy Miller Generation 2 Chief CEO Intern
Being a CEO has been so revealing to me about how the corporate or professional world
works. The way we operate is very similar to how our faculty and staff work at Stockton.
I have been able to grow in certain areas like building social capital, keeping open
communication, and having a growth mindset. It has been such an amazing journey to
meet so many new people and learn about their backgrounds. Each and every one of us
brings our own unique ideas and personalities to this conference that makes it so
surreal. One of the things I always say is that our brand is “student led,” which
means that our voices are finally being heard and utilized and that is the biggest
joy.
Ter'ron Oglesby Generation 2 CEO Intern
The CEO Internship has been a great overall experience for me that has allowed me
to grow personally and professionally.I have increased my knowledge and awareness
of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. I believe that these concepts are
practical techniques and skills that I can now implement in real-life professional
and business scenarios, to allow me to be a better professional and person. During
this internship, I also learned how to improve my ability to communicate, network,
and build relationships. This process has also helped me develop and enhance my professional
network, because of the emphasis placed on the importance of creating connections
and social capital.
