A CHAMP will be provided with information of his or her new student before the start of classes.
A students will receive a letter from the Success Scholars Initiative with instructions on how to contact their CHAMP. CHAMPS will be provided with a copy of this email.
A Success Scholars staff member will provide you with background information about your student. Students are requested to share with CHAMPS a copy of their OSPREY Success Plan during their first face-to-face meeting.

Yes, and review all information entered by your  student in the OSP.

Ask your student if they need help in completing their OSP. Their OSP should be completed by the first or second week after the start of each semester.
It depends on their situation. For example, a participant maybe working full–time and is taking 4 courses. Therefore, it is understandable if a participant decides not to join any student organization and not complete the Student Involvement Plan section of the SOP. Other sections of the OSP, however, should be completed.
Participants will be provided with a copy of the OSP during their interview prior to joining the initiative or during orientation, and a Success Scholars Program " To-Do List." They will be instructed to complete their OSP prior to their first meeting with their mentors.
