Stockton University Military and Veteran Checklist

Get Accepted!

  1. Apply to Stockton University through the Online Application. Indicate you are service member, veteran, or dependent affiliation on the application. Please know that the application fee will be waived (Use promo code “waiver”). Make sure to upload all transcripts from previously attended colleges and universities to your application. Including your military transcripts which can be requested at this Joint Services Trandscript Form (Use Firefox or Internet Explorer to access the request form)

  2. Complete this VONAPP application. If you are using the Post 9/11 G1 Bill, you need the certificate of eligibility, which you will receive in response to your VONAPP submission. Before submitting the online application print out a copy for yourself. If you are a member of the NJ Guard or Reserve, you will need a Commander’s Certification. This can be obtained from your unit's education department or liaison. Once you have your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or Commander Certification please upload the documents to the Financial Aid Office.

  3. File your FASFA. You may receive federal/state aid in addition to your military/veteran benefits. Your eligibility is determined by this filing. If NJ Guard - you must file a FASFA, complete the state aid application, and provide commander certification

  4. If you have questions about your military benefit or how to apply to receive them, please request an appointment with our Certifying Official, Jenifer Robin, located in the Financial Aid Office.


After you are Accepted!

  1. Confirm your attendance by completing Accepted Students - Confirm enrollment. As a military-affiliated student your deposited of $250 will be waived. Please know that the enrollment deposit is applied toward the amount due for the term for which the student is accepted. The deposit is not an additional fee. Waiving the deposit will not show as a credit on your account, it will simply secure your seat in the incoming class and confirm your intention to enroll. 

  2. If you are interested in residing on campus in student housing, please visit the Residential Life website for more information.  After you submit a housing application, please notify MVSC so that we can waive the housing application fee. Please know that Military-affiliated housing is located at our Atlantic City Campus.

  3. If you are a freshmen or are transferring with fewer than 16 college credits, you are subject to the college’s basic studies requirement. Please contact Academic Advising to discuss your placement and possible testing: (609) 652-4504 or advising@stockton.edu.

  4. Contact the Office of Military and Veteran Services in F105 to make your initial contact if you have not done so already. (609) 652-4315.

  5. Student veterans and service members with a disability should visit the Learning Access Program.

  6. Check your Stockton e-mail and GO portal daily! All communications are sent through the portal.

  7. Attend orientation ─ you will get an e-mail in your GO Portal e-mail account regarding orientation dates.

  8. Get you Stockton ID card (after you sign up for classes you will be directed to Student Records to take your picture and get a Stockton ID)

  9. Provide your immunization documentation to the Health Services Office (WQ 108)


As an Osprey!

  1. Get your books for your classes. Textbooks for course can be found on Bookstore and click book icon. 

  2. Attend classes!

  3. Make an appointment with a Career Counselor in Career Education & Development to work on your resume. (CC104). Appointments can be made using Handshake.

  4. Join and attend meetings of the Military Affiliated Students of Stockton (MASS).

  5. Meet with your preceptor (academic advisor) at least once every semester. It is important to meet with you preceptor (academic advisor) to make sure you are on track academically.
