Education Initiatives
SCOSA Educational programs expand learning opportunities
Educational Programs
It does so by focusing on:
- Stockton students through support of the Gerontology Minor and Certificate of Completion, Internships, Service Learning opportunities, and other value added initiatives on aging for students across the University.
- Local health care and human services professionals through Continuing Professional Education and cutting-edge scholarly lectures offered in the form of CEs and hosting free screenings of webinars from the American Soiety on Aging.
- National professionals through an innovative 15-Week online Certificate in Elder Care Coordination for staff at member law firms of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association. Since its inception in 2012 the program has trained over 100 professionals from 28 states.
- Older adults and their families through our extensive and most visible Older Adult Education programs in Atlantic and Ocean counties. These programs seek to nurture body, mind, and spirit and annually produce enrollments of approximately 2000 individuals.
