School of Social and Behavioral Sciences

C-122 | 609-652-4453
Jess.Bonnan-White@stockton.edu

As the FAWN Fellow, my primary goal is to serve as an advocate and resource for faculty working on various aspects of their academic writing. I have recently been promoted to Full Professor (Criminal Justice) and have had experience with working through the many stages of tenure and promotion. I particularly want to provide support to faculty who are building their scholarship plans and trying to balance teaching and service obligations with conducting research, successfully completing creative projects, and accomplishing academic writing goals. I currently conduct qualitative and quantitative research here in the US and also internationally (Ireland and Northern Ireland). During my time as the FAWN Fellow, I hope to facilitate events to support our faculty with time management and completing writing projects, including tenure files and narratives, peer-reviewed academic articles, academic and public scholarship trade books, textbooks, grant applications and reports, white papers and reports to agencies and collaborative partners, creative projects, book reviews, and IRB applications. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about academic writing and managing your research or creative projects!

Yulong.Gu@stockton.edu

As the CTLD artificial intelligence (AI) Faculty Fellow, my primary goal is to apply my research expertise to the collection of scientific evidence on the impact of generative AI technology on higher education, which may inform Stockton University’s institutional strategy development regarding (1) AI technology use in the delivery of current curricular, and (2) AI competency focused curriculum / pedagogy planning. I will work with CTLD to investigate AI impact on student learning outcomes and to disseminate our research findings to contribute to (a) the ongoing institutional conversations, and (b) the growth of scientific knowledge on the assistive and/or disruptive nature of the impact of the generative AI technology on higher education. I will be available to faculty for discussions on the AI topic throughout the academic year. Please reach out if you have any questions or would like to participate in our research on AI impact!

Zornitsa.Kalibatseva@stockton.edu

As the CTLD Research Fellow, my primary goal is to assist faculty across the university to advance their research. In particular, I will assist faculty with designing, implementing, and disseminating their research along with adhering to research ethics and considering appropriate publication venues. I will be providing research workshop sessions, availability at FAWN writing sessions, and individual consultations to assist with faculty research activities (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, statistical analyses, manuscript preparation, revisions, etc.).  I will be available to faculty to assist with questions related to research and provide other resources throughout the academic year. Nancy ReddyNancy Reddy, Inclusive Teaching Faculty Fellow
School of General Studies

B-114 | 609-652-4382
Nancy.Reddy@stockton.edu

As the CTLD Inclusive Teaching Fellow, my primary goal is to work with faculty across the university to develop practical strategies to promote students’ sense of connection and belonging in the classroom and the Stockton community as a whole. As a faculty member in First Year Studies, ensuring that students feel welcome and connected to each other and to the broader university has long been central to my pedagogy. In my experience, teaching practices that help students develop a sense of belonging have a far-reaching impact, improving not just student success in a given course but their persistence and retention at the university. I will be hosting workshops and facilitating a Faculty Learning Community, and I’ll also be available for meetings with individuals and/or programs wishing to develop pedagogies and classroom culture that fosters inclusive learning. Please reach out if you have any questions about inclusive pedagogies or would like to talk about strategies for building classroom community!

Chris TartaroChristine Tartaro, Leadership Faculty Fellow
School of Social and Behavioral Sciences

G-252 | 609-626-6035
Christine.Tartaro@stockton.edu

As the CTLD Leadership Fellow, I will serve as a resource for faculty who are program chairs or coordinators. I have served as the chair of the MACJ program for 16 years and have direct experience with all aspects of that job. As a chair of a graduate program with a corresponding undergraduate program, I am very experienced with collaborating with other program leaders, including undergraduate chairs and dual degree coordinators.  Over the course of my career, I have written five program reviews (three undergraduate, two graduate) and over a dozen year-end reports. I am hoping to be of assistance not only to new chairs who are getting acclimated to the position but to be able to lend an ear to more experienced chairs. I think that the program chairs are most productive when we work as a group to discuss our individual experiences, troubleshoot, and search for solutions.

Rachel KirznerRachel Kirzner, CTLD Fellow (Technology & Pedagogy)
School of Social and Behavioral Sciences

H202J | 609-652-4689
Rachel.Kirzner@stockton.edu

As CTLD Faculty Fellow focusing on technology and pedagogy, I’m here to assist in enhancing your pedagogy using various websites and types of software. I’ll be providing services one on one, in small group trainings, and via posted videos and written materials. I can work with you to identify which technology is a good match for your teaching style, and strategize on ways to implement that technology in your classroom or online teaching. Examples of approaches include BlackBoard, Zoom features, Zotero, and sites/software such as Kahoot and Padlet.

I’ll also be working to connect faculty who use technology in their scholarship and teaching. As a first step, I’ll be surveying faculty on what research and pedagogical software they are currently using. Then, I’ll facilitate the development of “software circles,” so faculty who wish to network around specific sites and approaches can support each other.

Jed MorfitJed Morfit, Critical Thinking Fellow
School of Arts and Humanities

AS123 | 609-652-4637
Jedediah.Morfit@stockton.edu

As the CTLD Critical Thinking Fellow, I will:

  • Offer critical thinking focused reviews of syllabi, assignments, rubrics, etc.
  • Offer peer-to-peer classroom observations and coaching sessions (not intended for administrative use, or inclusion in file).
  • Create a library of critical thinking related resources, including sample syllabi, assignments, rubrics, etc.

I will also be creating a series of short videos on the foundations of critical thinking pedagogy, the same way it is taught at the Stockton Critical Thinking Summer Institute. These videos will be short and accessible at any time, which I'm hoping will make them more accessible than in-person or zoom sessions. The introductory video can be found here, or on the critical thinking Google Classroom site, which will also be the source for the critical thinking resource library, and which can be joined here (please join with your Stockton email).

I'll continue to reach out as the semester proceeds and new resources or videos are added, but if you have any immediate questions, have resources you would like (or would like to share), or would like to schedule a coaching session, please let me know.

Lauren SeylerLauren Seyler, Interprofessional Education Fellow
School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

USC113 | 609-626-6030
Lauren.Seyler@stockton.edu

My goal as IPE faculty fellow for the 2021-2022 academic year is to create an online hub where Stockton faculty can post their current research projects and research abilities, explore the research capabilities of other faculty, and put out calls for collaborators on current or future projects. It will serve as a combination inventory, bulletin board, and classified advertising system for Stockton faculty and staff engaging in research- a virtual coffee house corkboard where researchers can build connections and plan new projects. This effort will not only benefit Stockton faculty and staff, but most importantly these connections will benefit our students by creating opportunities for student research projects that span multiple disciplines and programs.
