Groups and Programs

The Women's, Gender & Sexuality Center (WGSC) offers educational programs, workshops, and community-building opportunities that encourage learning, connection, and advocacy.

Our programming explores gender equity, LGBTQIA+ identities, healthy relationships, interpersonal violence prevention, and social justice. Through interactive workshops, group discussions, awareness events, and campus partnerships, we create opportunities for students to engage with important issues and build community.

Most WGSC programs are free and open to the Stockton community. Students, faculty, staff, and student organizations are encouraged to attend events or collaborate with us on new programs.

Osprey Advocacy

Osprey Advocates are trained students, staff and faculty who assist victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Begin your journey towards becoming a certified sexual assault/domestic violence advocate! In partnership with Avanzar, we host advocate training annually.

Safe Zone Initiative

The Safe Zone initiative provides education on LGBTQIA+ identities, experiences, and inclusion. Workshops explore topics such as sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, terminology, allyship, and creating more welcoming campus environments.

The WGSC is currently updating its Safe Zone curriculum to better reflect the experiences and needs of today's campus community.

The Green Dot Strategy

Green Dot is a bystander intervention program. Everyone has a role in helping prevent interpersonal violence.

WGSC prevention education explores sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, consent, and healthy relationships.

Through interactive discussions and activities, participants learn to recognize potentially harmful situations, understand barriers to intervention, and explore strategies for safely supporting others.

Programs can be adapted for student organizations, athletic teams, classes, and campus departments.

Gender Equity & Identity Education

The WGSC offers educational opportunities that encourage participants to examine gender, identity, stereotypes, and social expectations.

Programs may explore topics including masculinity, gender expression, gender diversity, gender-based discrimination, and the influence of social norms on individual experiences.

These conversations encourage participants to reflect on their perspectives, challenge assumptions, and contribute to a more inclusive campus community.

Community & Connection

Affinity Spaces: The WGSC supports opportunities for students to connect through shared identities, experiences, and interests. Affinity spaces provide opportunities for conversation, community building, and exploring topics that matter to participants. Offerings and meeting opportunities vary throughout the academic year. Students are encouraged to check upcoming events for current opportunities.

ACE/ARO/DEMI/GREY Support Group is a safe support group for any student or individuals who identify as ACE, ARO, DEMI, and/or GREY. At this time, the group is run by Office of Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS).

Transcendence: A Transgender Support Group is a safe support group for any student questioning or identifying along the transgender spectrum, including non-binary, gender-fluid, or genderqueer individuals. At this time, the group is run by Office of Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS).
