Most of the lactation rooms have the following: an inside door lock,  a small refrigerator, a chair, table, sink, soap, paper towels.

Cleaning & Sanitizing: Nursing parents are responsible for bringing their own equipment and cleaning up after each use.  This is not only out of respect for the next user, but to prevent contamination and illness transmission.  You should clean breast milk spills after each use and dispose of trash properly.  Cleaning wipes and paper towels should be provided in each room.  Please note that these products should never be used to sanitize your personal equipment.

Privacy: To respect the priacy of all Lactation Room users, please knock loudly before attempting to access the rooms.  Some rooms will have occupancy signs posted, for user's convenience.

Breast Milk Storage: Refrigeration/storage is provided in most of the rooms, but you may need to provide your own cooler with ice pack if there is no storage area in the room you are using. You may also store your clearly marked items in the WGSC (F-103).  Please see a staffperson for assistance with storage at the center.

  • Family Experience serves as a resource to help enhance parents’ and family members’ understanding of the university experience in order to successfully and appropriately empower their students.
